The EziSNA toolkit consists of a collection of modules that greatly simplify the development of SNA (LU 6.2) Advanced Program-to-Program Communications (APPC) Transaction Programs (TPs) for the Microsoft Windows environment. The tools facilitate the development of 32-bit SEND and RECEIVE TPs which can be accessed from 16-bit and 32-bit Windows environments as well as any other SNA LU6.2 environment such as IBM Mainframes or AS/400.

The EziSNA toolkit can be combined with our EziTCP Toolkit to provide cross-platform information exchange between TCP/IP and SNA environments.

Some of the key features of the EziSNA toolkit are listed below. If you have any specific queries, please send them to Info@Active-COM.com.
  • Provides a high level API for accessing the Microsoft SNA Server (LU 6.2) APPC APIs.
  • Use ActiveX programming tools to easily build applications that integrate with the Microsoft SNA Server.
  • Can be used to develop both APPC Send and Receive Transaction Programs.
  • Automatic ASCII to EBCDIC data conversion.
  • Message passing between TCP/IP and APPC transaction programs.
  • Support for a complete set of APPC verbs.
  • Event notification allows application to be notified on verb execution and state change.
  • Complete confirmation processing.
  • Full sync level support.
  • Fully tested with Microsoft SNA Server 4.0.
The EziSNA Toolkit can now be purchased as a package with unlimited licenses plus the source code. Visit our ordering information page for pricing details. The following lists the features provided in our source code:
  • Developed in Visual C++ using the Active Template Library (ATL).
  • Includes the complete source code for:
    • ACAPPCX ActiveX Control (version 3.0).
    • ACSNA32 Object Library.
    • This library contains a set of ready to run C++ classes that encompass the APPC communication functionality.

  • In-line documentation that describes the code implementation.
  • The ACAPPCX ActiveX control allows languages such as Visual Basic to be used to build powerful APPC transaction programs that interface with other transaction programs on IBM host systems (MVS, AS/400 etc).
  • The SNALib32 library provides a large collection of functions that can be used by any application requiring APPC functionality.
  • This single ActiveX control can be used to build both SEND and RECEIVE TPs in an environment supported by the Microsoft SNA Server.
  • This EziSNA tools can be combined with the EziTCP Toolkit to facilitate cross-platform message and data exchange in a Microsoft SNA Server environment.
